This Just Leaves One Question

How the hell do you play 2-7 SD anyway? Talk about beginners luck!

Good Week

After not playing online for a bit I decided to put some money in Full Tilt and play some tournys..

Followed yesterday by..

Full Tilt Poker Tournament #218853275 $11 + $1 Rush On Demand NL Hold’em
Buy-In: $11.00 + $1.00
249 players
Total Prize Pool: $2739.00
Start Date: Feb 12 19:29 ET

Dear other1212,

You finished the tournament in 7th place.
There has been $95.87 added to your account.

That’s a Good Reason

It’s Day 3 of the bachelor party and we’re relaxing in the room watching the Jets-Pats game; eventually everyone wants to get dinner, but there’s a guy who’s supposed to join us and hadn’t arrived yet. So his friend texts Perelman (who I don’t know) to see how he’s doing. Seems he’s still playing in a tourney at Red Rock and though short stacked is hanging in there. Eventually the Jets game ends, at this point it’s too late for me cause I need to get to the airport for my flight home (stupid real job), so I’m out for dinner (thanks guy I don’t know). A couple hours after I’ve landed back in San Diego, I get a text from the bachelor that they’re going to be on tv, hmmm. Next day I check online and turns out Rob has a good reason for missing dinner.

Never Tell Me The Odds!!

Sir the odds of hitting two royal flushes back to back are approximately 957 million to 1 against.

Never tell me the odds!!!

..If my math is right. If it isn’t, well, I think we can all agree 2 royals back to back is still pretty uncommon.

In Soviet Russia, YOU rob CASINO!

Ok not in Russia.. In Las Vegas.. Its like a case of man bites dog.. Someone ripped off a casino instead of getting ripped of by a casino.

Bellagio robber flees with $1.5 million in chips

Its funny to read this now because I’m reading Richard Marcus’ book on the best casino cheats and scams of all time.  Most of them are pretty ingenious and high tech, but this story shows that the old stand by of a mask and a gun still works just fine as well.

OTB RIP

From the OTB homepage..

Unfortunately, the NYS Senate chose not to pass the bill passed by the Assembly that would have saved NYC OTB.   Therefore, due to a lack of unrestricted funds to continue in business, NYC OTB will be ceasing all pari-mutuel wagering operations , Tuesday,  December 7, 2010 as per our Board of Directors vote, and will proceed to the orderly winding down of its business affairs.”

Sad. If the made p0ker legal at these places like other states have, they wouldn’t have had to put 1,000 people out of work.. in fact they would have hired many more. It’s the end of an era. For many New Yorkers, including myself, OTB is the first place they placed a legal bet. I went pretty much every triple crown race for the past I can’t remember how many years. Oh well, c’est la vie..
